Reporting to the Operations Executive, you will be responsible for developing, leading, administering and coordinating all phases of the North Central Health Care's (NCHC) Human Resources (HR) functions, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefit administration, compliance and staff development. The organization includes 950+ employees across 2 hospitals, an outpatient clinic, 2 skilled nursing facilities, residential facilities, crisis stabilization facilities, and the crisis hotline. Your peer group will be the  Management team, and you will have approximately 8 HR team members reporting directly to you.

More about the Requirements
In addition to the qualifications already described, you should have:
  • Computer knowledge, including experience with an HRIS (human resource information system) and databases, as well as proficiency using Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • A valid Wisconsin driver's license and appropriate auto insurance coverage as required by North Central Health Care
Preferred but not required:
  • 5+ years related previous experience with a Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, health care management, or a related field
  • Experience with culture transformation
  • Experience with advanced reporting software
More about the Role
Your goals will be to improve processes as we grow, to help better integrate HR with the rest of the organization through relationship building (such as ensuring business partners are communicating with managers, etc), and to create a strategy to ensure we have competitive offerings based on industry best practices. Though you’ll oversee the direction of the employee lifecycle resources and tools, you will be a strategic manager rather than a hands-on HR employee; most, if not all, of the front-line HR work will be done by the team that you manage.

Some of your specific tasks will be to:
  • Manage core administrative HR services for all NCHC programs.
  • Ensure that NCHC work environments are conducive to employee recruitment, retention, development, and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure continued compliance with all applicable federal, state, and related regulatory/accreditation requirements.
  • Administer innovate programs and initiatives related to compensation and benefit, recruitment and retention, performance management systems, employee engagement, employee health, and industry competitiveness.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to provide consultative support, and offer day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, policy guidance and interpretation).
  • Facilitate a fair approach to regularly meeting and gaining input from all.
  • Provide direct supervision for Human Resources staff.
  • Partner with the Operations Executive to review policies, procedures and programs.
  • Respond to employee relation issues such as unemployment claims, employee complaints, harassment allegations and employee rights complaints to work towards successful resolution in accordance with NCHC policy.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee recognition & service, and awards programs.
